2. Siginificance: Ones that affect many people
Ex. Taxes, elections, wars, the economy
3. Timeliness: Hear the news when its happening
Ex. Hear the flood while its happening not when its dried out
4. Proximity: People want to know about nearby events
Ex. New State Tax Law
5. Prominence: Well-known people, buildings, or places
Ex. Movie star being arrested is what people want to hear
6. Human Intrest: Stories about normal people or animals humorous or dramatic
EX. Man saves child from a fire

Diffrences between Printed and Journalism Broadcast
1. Newspapers provide fuller coverage
2. Readers act as thier own editors
3. Radio has more fast-breaking stories
4. Television is the most dramatic
5. News magazines are the most in depth
